Alexandre Parola is a Brazilian career diplomat with extensive experience in international trade, economic diplomacy and multilateral negotiations. He served as Brazil’s Permanent Representative to the World Trade Organization and other economic organizations in Geneva, and as Director of the Economic Department at Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His diplomatic career includes postings in Washington, Santiago and London. He holds a Master’s in Economics from the University of Brasília and a PhD in Philosophy from the Catholic University of America.
