Heloisa Slav is an international lawyer and Founder and Managing Partner of SLAV LAW, with offices in São Paulo and Geneva. She brings more than 25 years of experience in commodities, structured trade finance and complex cross-border transactions, advising financial institutions, trading houses, producers and investors on transactions involving Brazil and international markets.

Her practice spans agribusiness, energy, mining and metals, with a focus on structured commodity finance, security arrangements, syndicated lending, project finance and cross-border investments. For 20 years, she has worked closely with Geneva’s commodities and financial community, building longstanding relationships between Brazil and the Swiss market.

Her career includes roles at Cargill, Coimex and leading Brazilian law firms. She founded SLAV LAW in São Paulo in 2010 and opened its Geneva office in 2020, further strengthening this international presence.

She holds a Law degree from Universidade Paulista, postgraduate studies in Tax Law from PUC-SP and a Master’s in Business Law from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), with research focused on international trade and commodity finance. She also completed an Executive Programme in International Financial Law in Oxford through Euromoney Legal Training.

She is admitted to practice in Brazil and Portugal and is a Solicitor of England and Wales. She is co-author of Arbitration in Agribusiness, contributing the chapter “Arbitration in Export Financing Transactions” (Editora Verbatim, 2018), and serves as Coordinator of the Agribusiness Law Commission at the Brazilian Institute of Business Law (IBRADEMP).

Based in Geneva, she promotes dialogue between Brazil and the international commodities community through initiatives including the Brazil Commodities Forum and the Brazil Roundtable.
